What is CEFR?
CEFR stands for Common European Framework of Reference. CEFR represents the prevailing international standard for the teaching and learning languages. CEFR is a worldwide framework recognition for describing language learning, teaching and assessment. It provides detailed descriptions of the second language learners could do in terms of the four elements of Reading , Writing, Speaking and Listening.
In Cambridge ELEES, we follow the CEFR standard as we are the preparation school for the authorised Cambridge Assessment English examination centre. It describes language ability on a six-point scale, from A1 for beginners, up to C2 for those who have mastered a language. This makes it easy for anyone involved in language learning, teaching and assessment to view the level of different qualifications. This means that employers and educational institutions can easily compare Cambridge Assessment English qualifications to other exams in their country.
